Town in California
Fair Oaks. In 1866, Atherton was known as Fair Oaks and was a flag stop on the California Coast for the Southern Pacific Railroad between San Francisco and San Jose for the convenience of the owners of large estates living north of Menlo Park. The entire area was called Menlo Park.
It’s quiet, safe and a blend of Menlo Park and Woodside. The homes range from being massive (6,000+ SF) to be smaller, older rang style homes. There are no businesses in Atherton as it’s a 100% residential town. … It looks a lot like Menlo Park over there in terms of house size.
